DISASTER FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE AVAILABLE TO RESIDENTS

The deadline for U.S. Small Business Administration loans for December 2023 storm recovery is quickly approaching. Submit your application for physical damage online at sba.gov/disaster or in person at the Disaster Loan Assistance Center, located at the Oxnard Public Library, M-Th 9am-7pm, Sat. 9am-3pm. Hurry! The deadline for application is March 11, 2024. The deadline for economic injury is October 10, 2024.

Applicants may apply online and receive additional disaster assistance information at SBA.gov/disaster. Applicants may also call SBA’s Customer Service Center at (800) 659‑2955 or email disastercustomerservice@sba.gov for more information on SBA disaster assistance. For deaf, hard of hearing, or speech disability assistance, please dial 7-1-1 to access telecommunications relay services.

OTHER GOVERNMENT-SPONSORED DISASTER ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS

Efforts remain underway to secure other disaster assistance programs for our community, including the FEMA Individual Assistance Program. Several formal requests to activate this program have been made to the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services. 

ASSISTANCE FROM LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS

All local cities have partnered with 211 of Ventura to assist residents with any unmet needs they may have due to the December floods. If you or your family has unmet needs, please call 211 from any landline or cellular telephone and a representative will work to connect you with one of several organizations available to assist.

Assistance may be available in the following areas:

  • Debris removal / cleanup
  • Temporary housing
  • Disaster mental health support
  • Assistance with food
  • Assistance with temporary shelter
